Who we are
Chalybs is the trading name of CHALYBS UK LIMITED, registered in England and Wales, company number 07374605, incorporated 2010. Registered office: 48 Crossness Road, Barking, Essex, IG11 0TE.
What we collect
Only what you send us by email, phone, WhatsApp or our contact form — usually your name, how to reach you and what you’d like help with. Like any website, ours is sent your device’s IP address when you open a page. Cloudflare, which hosts the site, uses it to deliver the page and to block attacks. We don’t use it to identify you.
What we do with it
We use it to reply to you, and nothing else. Messages are read and handled only by the founder of CHALYBS UK LIMITED. We don’t sell it, pass it to anyone for their own use, or add you to a mailing list. Messages sent on WhatsApp are also handled by WhatsApp under its own privacy policy.
Who else handles it
Two companies carry and store messages for us: Cloudflare runs this website, the contact form and our email forwarding, and Google runs our mailbox (Gmail). Both are based in the United States, so your details may be processed outside the UK, under each company’s own privacy terms.
Cookies and tracking
This website uses no cookies, analytics or tracking. To block spam, our contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a real person is sending the message without setting tracking cookies. Cloudflare also counts visits in total on its own servers, such as how many there were and from which countries. Those totals do not identify anyone.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for 12 months, then deleted. Client and invoice records are kept for 6 years.
Our legal basis
For enquiries, our legal basis is legitimate interests: we need your details to reply to you. For clients, it is contract: we need your details to do the work you have asked for and to invoice it.
Deleting your details
Email info@chalybsuk.co.uk and we’ll delete what we hold about you, except client and invoice records, which are kept for 6 years. You can also ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or object to how we use it. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
