  The website02 / 07

What a firm’s website has to prove

People choosing a solicitor, an accountant or an adviser are often worried, and usually comparing two or three firms. They want to know quickly whether you handle their kind of problem and who they would be dealing with. They also want to know what it is likely to cost.

So each service or area of law gets its own plain-English page. It says what the service covers, how the work runs, how long it usually takes and how you charge. Each person a client might deal with gets a short profile, with a real photo and their qualifications.

The enquiry form asks only for what you need for a first conversation, and says who will read it. Nothing on the site should read like a brochure written for other professionals.

  The rules03 / 07

The details your regulator expects

Regulated firms have to show certain things on their websites. For solicitors that includes the SRA’s clickable badge, price and service information for some kinds of work, and a complaints procedure. For FCA-authorised advisers it means the right status wording and risk warnings. Accountants show their professional body and practising details.

We build a proper place for each of these and keep them easy to update. We are not your compliance adviser, so you or your compliance lead approve every word before the site goes live.

  Found on Google04 / 07

Found for the work you want

Local searches are usually for one service in one place: “conveyancing solicitor Barking”, “accountant near me”, “mortgage adviser Romford”. A page for each service, a complete Google Business Profile and reviews from real clients put a firm in front of those people. Ongoing local SEO keeps all three up to date.

Google Ads can work well for legal and financial services, but Google asks some advertisers to be verified first and restricts some wording. We tell you what applies to your firm before you spend anything.

  Questions people ask06 / 07

Questions people ask

Do you know the SRA and FCA rules?
Chalybs builds in the details that regulators such as the SRA and FCA ask for, like registration numbers and complaints information. You or your compliance lead sign off the wording.
Can you show our fees?
Yes, your website can show your fees. Many firms now must publish price information, and it builds trust.
Can Google Ads be used for legal and financial services?
Yes, Google Ads can be used for legal and financial services, with care. Some services have extra Google rules, and we’ll tell you before you spend anything.
Who writes the words?
AI-written words are included with every website, or a copywriter can write them for £120. Either way, nothing goes live until you or your compliance lead have approved it.
We already have a website. Can you improve it instead of starting again?
Often, yes: Chalybs can improve an existing website instead of building a new one. The free audit tells you what is worth keeping, and local SEO work can improve the pages you already have. We only suggest a new site when fixing the old one would cost you more.
Who owns the website and the domain?
Chalybs clients own their website and domain. The domain, the hosting and the site are in your name from day one. If you ever leave, you take it all with you.
